I can’t believe we are nearly 1/2 way through Sale-A-bration! I am really going to miss these stamp sets when they are gone. Don’t forget that any one of these sets could be yours for free when place an $100 order during the remainder of sale-A-bration.

This card is one that I have wanted to make ever since I got the Birthday Whimsy set. I had it all planned out in my head and I was happy with the way it turned out in real life. I love the balloon stamp in this set and I thought a bit of Dazzling Diamonds glitter would be a perfect finishing touch. To get this effect you need to ink your stamp in Versa Mark then go straight into a Classic ink pad of your choice. I chose Lovely Lilac, Rose Red and Apricot Appeal to match the card stock and the colours of the ribbon. Stamp the images on some Whisper White card stock and then sprinkle over some Heat and Stick powder. Heat the powder with your Heat Tool so that it melts and, before it dries, sprinkle your glitter over the top. A quick blast with the heat tool will set the glitter in place. I’ve used Sweet Shop Ribbon Originals and Stampin’ Up’s Silver cord for the embellishments. I threaded the cord through a Lavender Lace eyelet and fastened it at the back of the Certainly Celery card with Snail adhesive. If you and your friends would like to learn more about how to apply bling to your projects, then contact me now to book a time for your workshop! I used my new Word Window punch for the greeting…..you can make your windows as long as you want by sliding the punch along a bit further. With this, though, I used the bit that you punch out of the window and slid the strip back into the punch, leaving one end free to get the extra length (I might need to show you this in a photo!)

I haven’t forgotten to show you how to make the little brackets on the 6×6 page a couple of posts ago……..stay tuned for a step by step photo tutorial! My “camera assistant” has gone to bed and I now only have one pair of hands!!

Bud basics

I love using Wheels in my stamping. They make the whole process a lot quicker and easier. I can whip up around 10 cards in 1/2 an hour using a wheel……and a co-ordinating stampset makes the whole process even more fun! For this card I have used the Bud Basics stamp set and the matching Stampin’ around Basics Outline wheel from the Summer Mini catalogue. With two-step stamping, you can just switch out the colours and your project can take on a whole new look. I have used the “stamping off” technique with the flower images. Instead of re inking, I twisted them around and stamped again over the original image to give a two-toned look. With the two-step stamping sets, you don’t have to be spot on with lining things up…….I actually prefer to eyeball my placement of the images rather than use a stamp positioner……..gotta love the rustic look! For the greeting, I reached for the very versatile Lots of Thoughts stamp set, which is available for free with qualifying orders until the end of February. I used a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker to isolate the words I wanted to use on my card.

Inks: Basic Brown cartridge, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Tempting Turquoise, Cool Carribbean, Chocolate Chip.

Card stock: Regal Rose, Cool Carribbean, Whisper White

I have to confess that I am totally in love with this stamp set. I had some time to “play” today while the kids had some time outside (first time in a couple of days due to the rain) and I came up with a few cards that I am pretty happy with. Here is one that I completed before lunch. I invested in some Taupe grossgrain ribbon which ties all these muted colours together beautifully. I loved using the chip board circles with some scraps of the Enchante paper I had left over and mounting the bird and flower from the centre of the square stamp on top. Chip board adds a little bit of dimension that makes all the difference to the appearance of a card don’t you think?

Stamp set : Carte Postal and French Flair back ground stamp sets

Ink: Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip

Card stock: Sage Shadow and Very Vanilla

Brad: Antique Gold (Vintage Brads)

Accessories: Sanding block, Mini Glue Dots, 2-way glue pen, Anywhere Glue stick, Tool Kit.

We have a winner!

Brag Book Girls……….

Yes, I been having fun playing with the new Sale-A-bration sets! One of the best things about being a demonstrator is that we get heaps of freebies too………. and not just during Sale-A-Bration!

The set I’ve used above is Birthday Whimsy and it is based on a 6×6 layout in our monthly Impressions magazine just for demonstrators. I’ve been demonstrating this one at my workshops this week. I’ve used Old Olive, Real Red, Cool Carribbean, Tempting Turquoise and So Saffron cardstock. The balloon and presents were stamped on Whisper white in Cool Carribbean and Old Olive. I’ve used the smaller tip of my Bold Brights markers for the highlites.

For the little brackets I have used my Round Tab punch (this punch has so many uses!).

Look out for a step by step tutorial on how to create these as well as how to use this versatile punch to create a perfect circle window in my next post!

I love how quick it is to do a 6×6 page and Stampin’ Up’s Brag Book album makes a lovely gift for someone special……….with one photo to a page and some journaling…….it’s so easy to put together and something that will be treasured forever.
