Just sharing a quick card that I have been demonstrating at my recent workshops. I love the image of this bird embossed onto a strong colour. This set is proving to be very versatile for both cards and scrapbook pages and I love the detail in the heart and flower images too (there are 11 stamps in total in this set for just $)55.95.

To create a customized brad just make a hole with your Paper Piercer, push a Rhinestone Brad through one of the new Styled Silver Hodgepodge Ribbon slides and then through the River Rock card ; sort of like building your own brad to match your project.

Here’s a close up of the brad:

Dsc01020_sml.jpg The stamps and accessories that I have used for this card are listed below:

Stamps : “Always” stamp set from the Spring Mini Catalogue

Ink : Whisper White, Versa Mark
Paper : River Rock, Real Red, Basic Grey

Accessories : White Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Powder, Powder Pals, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Paper Piercer, Ribbon Originals.
The new Mini Catalogue goes on line on August the 1st. You can view it by clicking on the link to the right or if you would like your very own copy , email me and I’ll send you one in the mail.
Remember, orders of $300 are eligible for full hostess benefits and these stamps and accessories are available for a short time only, so why not show the catalogue around to your friends and earn some freebies too! Let me know, and I’ll pop in some order forms with the extra Catalogues for you to hand out.

Just popping back to let you know about my new monthly Stamp Club starting up in September. I have had quite a response already so I wanted to post here in case you hadn’t caught up on the news.

This club will have 6 members and, as usual, I will be running a free class, just for members, at my home in Farmborough Heights each month (I’ll send you my address when you join so you know where to come :-)

Each member will get their turn at being “hostess” once during the 6 months and earn at least one free hostess stamp set as well as additional cash to spend, depending on the total for the night.
We will be meeting on the last Monday night of each month (December’s date to be advised),  our first get together being the 29th September, 7.30pm.

If you would like to be part of the club this time simply email me at stampin@vanessawebb.net and I will send you an application form.

Tart and Tangy Popsicles

I’ve been such a bad blogger! I realised how time had flown since my last post. Just popping in to share one of the items that we made at the Summer Mini Catalogue Launch last night. Even though the night was decidedly un-summery, we successfully shut out the cold and warmed up with some bright colours and the new Tart and Tangy stamp set, creating these cute little Popsicle cards.

Now, you may have seen these on blogs around the place………….but I decided to add in my own spin with the Scratch-n-Sniff technique for a little bit of extra fun! Do you remember those stickers you used to get from the corner store that smelled really yummy when you scratched them??? Well, you can make your own Scratch-n-Sniff images with your stamps, ink pads and a bit of clear embossing powder and Sugar free drink mix. Leave a comment for this post and I will send you the receipe so you can make your own Scratch-n-Sniff cards or book yourself a New Mini Catalogue workshop and I’ll bring all the supplies to you! Just for being a hostess you will receive a free Idea Book and Catalogue (along with a copy of the Mini Catalogue). You get to keep everything that I demonstrate at the workshop PLUS the opportunity to earn free stamp sets and catalgue shopping spree on Stampin’ Up!

MY SPECIAL OFFER : To celebrate the launch next month  of what is being called the “Best Mini Catalogue Ever”, contact me to pick a date for August and choose a FREE Classic Stamp Pad……on me!

Kristina Werner’s Colour Inspiration # 16

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Ok……..I’ve always wanted to participate in one of these. Kristina Werner is a graphic designer for Stampin’ Up! in the US (how’s that for a dream job!) and her blog is one of my favourites. One of the things that I appreciate about her style is that she reminds us that inspiration is all around us. Here was this week’s colour inspiration :

And here is my take on the colour combo :

I was inspired to do a baby card because  #1 Those little booties were so darn cute! and #2 I know sooooooo many pregnant people at the moment, so I know it will come in useful!!! Here’s a rundown of what I’ve used to create this card:

Stamps : Nursery Necessities stamp set

Ink : Whisper White (not strictly within the guidelines I know, sorry! but we don’t have Very Vanilla ink available in Australia any longer), Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky

Paper : Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky Textured, Very Vanilla and Certainly Celery card stock

Accessories : Pumpkin Pie striped grosgrain ribbon, Bashful Blue and Pumpkin coloured Rhinestone Brads, Corner Rounder Punch, 2mm Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals
