DSC01383_sml.JPG

I wanted to post a picture of a card that I am sending to my friend in France who has just announced her engagement. I got the news while I was away in Palm Cove ……..so I thought it was appropriate to post the card I will be sending to her and Stefan here!

I have used a card by Shelli Gardner as my inspiration for the layout and added a few of my own touches to change it up a little.

If you visit Shelli’s blog , you’ll see some pictures of her gorgeous new grand daughter, Phoebe, who was born while she was with us in Palm Cove (just scroll past our Saturday night dinner companions!!)
So congratulations to Al and Stefan and Shelli on your wonderful news……….the best kind!!!!

Here’s a list of the things I used to make this card…..

Stamps : Baroque Motifs, Frames with a Flourish

Ink : Versa Mark, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Gold Encore

Paper : Ivory Naturals, Always Artichoke, Baroque Backgrounds Designer Series Paper, River Rock

Accessories : Powder Pals, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder,Gold Embossing Powder, Colour Spritzer, Close to Cocoa Marker, paper Snips, Glue Dots, Chocolate Chip wide grosgrain ribbon, Large Oval Punch.
What do you think?

Thanks for waiting! Here’s what goodies we got inside our bags for our make-n-Take session (we got to keep everything!)……….

And this is what we made with our brand new, never before seen, stamp set, “Ocean Commotion”,  (I love that seaweed swirl)…………..DSC01387_sml.JPG

After Make-n-Takes we headed off down the esplanade with Claire, Jayne, Marelle, Ros, Joanna and Linda and Greg (who managed to escape my camera for this shot!) to find a spot to have lunch…………..

It was lovely just to stroll through the gift shops and galleries, find some pressies for our kids and our wonderful mum’s who were looking after them before heading back to the resort for a cocktail and a snooze………here’s a picture of the out door lobby lounge where we could sit and have a drink, hang out, spin the prize wheel etc……..very swish!………DSC01316_sml.JPG
That evening Simon and I had pizza made from scratch at a great little place that we discovered on our afternoon walk and joined Linda and Cheryl and their hubbies for dessert and cocktails………

We returned to our rooms that night to find yet another gift waiting for us……..DSC01307_sml.JPG

Inside this huge box was the softest, most luxurious bathrobe with my initials on it!

We had to organise a photo shoot of all of us in our robes, so , after a dip in the Jacuzzi, we donned our new gowns and headed out into the pool area………that’s Aaron Scott, Stampin’ Up!’s Australian Regional Manager lying in the front row……..I’m up the back second from the left……..DSC01336_sml.JPG

Palm Cove – Day 3(part 1)

Thursday, August 28th, 2008

We were very excited about our Make-n-Take morning as we all wanted to see what new stamp set we were getting! When we  arrived at the room we had a chance to swap with everyone and mingle a bit……….

DSC01276_sml.JPG

We did notice there was a certain much covetted punch on the tables and we were excited to find out that we would be getting the Scallop Border Punch in our next mini Catalogue – I think they could hear our cheers from underwater on the Reef!!

This is how Marelle expressed her excitement about the new punch :

On the tables were some cute little bags (which could be used either as a cool bag or a bathroom bag filled with goodies. Inside we each received a brand new, never before seen stamp set, 2 Classic Ink Pads and a Versamark which we would be taking home after using that morning (I’ll post some pics of the stamp set and what we made a little later!)

Jeneil and Krista were our demonstrators for the morning and we stamped and chatted for on hour or so…………DSC01285_sml.JPG

DSC01216_sml.JPG

We had a leisurely breakfast at the Resort that morning and I took a stroll along the beach to take a few photos.

DSC01221_sml.JPG

Later that morning we headed up the mountain to Kuranda by train……..the views were spectacular along the way and it was lovely just to sit and chat and watch the scenery go by.

DSC01230_sml.JPG

The waterfalls and rock formations were just awesome.

DSC01238_sml.JPG

A quick photo before we got back on the train and headed up further to our destination.

Kuranda is a little village with markets, restaurants and a great pub that serves Guiness on tap in a way I’ve never seen before! As we strolled around the shops we found an eatery with drink machines whose signs were decorated with SU! stamped images! So we had our photo taken in front of them………..

DSC01242_sml.JPG

We travelled back by the Sky Rail, hopping off at stops along the way to take in some more scenery and meet the local wild life. You can see a picture of Shelli on her blog having her first cuddle with a Koala! Scroll down her home page a bit and you’ll see a photo of us too!

The Sky Rail took us over the tree tops and down again to where our coaches were waiting.

The rest of the evening was ours to do with what we wanted. We decided to  eat at a Thai place along the beach which was just delicious and then headed back to Angsana to find another gift waiting in our rooms …………

A DVD of Workshop Wow’s from Stampin’ Up!’s Regional Seminars 2007-2008!

Every day we got to spin the prize wheel. So, in addition to our gifts, we had the chance to win Rub-Ons, Pockets and Pieces, Rhinestone Brads and Ribbon Originals……….I won four days out of four!!!

I’m still blown away by Stampin’ Up!’s generosity and how much they spoiled us on the Trip and made us feel so appreciated and special.

Back with more later………
