The Scalloped Edge Punch

I promised I would be back to show you this little trick using the new Scalloped edge punch. Simply cut a piece 5.9cm (this measurement is important!) square of cardstock and place it in the center position of the punch.

Punch around each side being sure to centre it from the edges each time.

You end up with a larger scallop to fit around your smaller scallop as shown on my boxes in the previous post here. Plus a larger square frame that can also be used as an accent on a card or page.
As soon as I got this punch I started to play with it and came up with this little trick for making a bigger square to go around the Scallop Square punch. Stampin’ Up! punches are fabulous quality and provide endless versatility as they can be either used alone or with other punches in many different ways.

You can now order your very own Square Scallop and Scallop Border punches with coordinating stampsets from me!  Just click on the link to the right to browse the new Summer Mini and email me with you order. If you would like your very own copy of the catalogue and you’re on my mailing list, just ask, and I’ll send one off  to you in the post.

Here it is!

There is now only one day left to order from the current Spring Mini catalogue! Which means that on Monday I can post a link here to the brand new Summer Mini!!

I’ll be putting my final orders through tomorrow evening before 10pm and it’s not too late to drop me line for your last minute orders (you can pay by credit card over the phone.)

I’ll miss many of the items in the current Mini …….not least of all the gorgeous Purely Pomegranate Satin Ribbon (pictured above with the Berry Bliss Designer series Papers). I’ve used the satin ribbon here to tie up some lucky door prizes for workshop guests over the next little while……….if you are a winner, I hope you enjoy using the ribbon and the die-cut Simply Scrapping stickers in your package :-) .

The Berry Bliss papers co-ordinate very well with the images in  “One Of a Kind”- also from the current Mini.  Here is a card I received recently from Andrea Lowcock using this set:

And don’t forget the co-ordinating Boho Blossoms Punch which  allows you to punch out the three flowers quickly and easily to make a gorgeous card like the one above.

Speaking of punches……….
I’ve been playing a bit with my 5 Petal Flower Punch. This punch is great to use with left over scraps of Double-Sided Paper and looks great when you layer the punched images.

Here’s another sample…….DSC01794_sml.JPG
I have used Spring Break papers here and made the button out of a circle punched out with the 3/4 inch circle punch which fits the smaller of the clear buttons the are sold by Stampin’ Up!. These are really fun to use as they allow you to customize your buttons to suit a project by grabbing whatever co-ordinating paper or card stock you have on hand. To make the flowers here, I’ve first scrunched them before sanding them with a sanding block to rough them up a bit (I was using them on a page with photos of my son and hubby and wanted them to look as masculine as possible!)
And again, speaking of punches, I thought I would leave you tonight with another sneak peek from the Summer Mini before it is officially released on Monday.

For both creations above I’ve used the Scallop Square Punch with the new set called “Say It With Scallops”.

You’ll also catch a glimpse of the fabulous new Chunky Sprinkles Glitter which comes in 4 great colours :-) .

There’s a new jumbo wheel called “Lots of Dots” which I had to have when I saw  the card my very talented friend and fellow demonstrator, Linda Higgins, made with it. The Congrats! card above was inspired by her creation.

Now here’s a little challenge for you, Stampin’ Up! are offering the Scallop Square Punch in only one size……..you might have noticed in the image above I have created two Scallop Squares. Can you guess how?

I’ll be back later on to show you!!

Just a reminder that you can still purchase Stampin Up!s gorgeous Rub Ons for 20% off when you spend $20 on Stampin’ Up! products until the end of this month.

I’ve used one of my Cherished Memories Rub Ons on this watering can I got from a $2 shop(It reminds me a bit of the SU! catty cover lol.)

Rub Ons are great because they go on where most stamps can’t ……on curvy, shiny surfaces. You can also use Rub Ons on photos, and ribbons, mirrors, picture frames etc.

The gorgeous A Perfect Day and Eastern Elegance Rub Ons from the Spring Mini Catalogue are available at 20% discount when you spend $20 until  Sunday 30th November.

Don’t miss out!!

Tart and Tangy- I’ll miss you!

I’ve had a lot of fun with this stamp set  and I’ll be sad to see it go along with our Spring Mini on November 30th.

This is a great set to use with markers (still available individually for 4.95 this month!), as well as the Scratch-n-sniff technique. The images are nice and bold and simple so it’s also great for kids to use in their card-making.

Here I’ve made a very simple card using the cherries from my “Tart and Tangy” set (the set also has a citrus fruit, strawberry and an apple). I’ve inked up the image in my Real Red and Always Artichoke Stampin’ Write markers and stamped onto some Whisper White cardstock.

To accentuate the Cherries and give them a shiny appearance I’ve applied Crystal Effects to the image before letting it dry over night. To finish off I’ve simply tied a  knot in some Real Read wide grosgrain ribbon and adhered it to the card with Mini Glue Dots.

The greeting was stamped in Basic Black and is from the matching greeting set “One Smart Cookie” which is also available from the current mini catalogue until Sunday.

I’ve used the little bunch of grapes image from the greeting set stamped in Versa Mark (a watermark ink that is very versatile) to create a subtle background on the Real Red cardstock.
If there is anything still on your wishlist from this year’s Spring Mini…….make sure you contact me before then so you don’t miss out!
