I thought I would post some last minute samples of the gorgeous Sale-A-Bration sets.  Sale-A-Bration ends tonight.

I think Polkadot Punches was a firm favourite with both myself and my customers this year.

The card above uses the Poppin’ Pastels technique. I’ve stamped the images on Whisper White with Versa Mark and used a sponge Dauber to apply Stampin’ Pastels over the top.

Here’s a little tag we made at some workshops last week using the same set:

For the background flowers I’ve used the Emboss Resist technique (clear embossing over Regal rose cardstock) and my Brayer to ink up the cardstock afterwards. I love this effect!

Finally a CASED card from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue itself:

You’ll see a card very similar to this on page three of the brochure………a very simple and elegant card, and I particularly like the white embossing on the dark coloured card stock…..it’s a really nice effect.

Leave a comment for this post before Saturday 7th March to tell us what your favourite SAB set was this year, and why and I’ll send you a sample using your set!

Live Your Dream

This is one of the stamp sets which is being promoted as part of Stampin’ Up!’s Red Cross bush-fire appeal. 50% of the $55.95 sale price of this set will be donated directly to the fund. So far Stampin’ Up! has raised over $15000 toward the appeal from the sale of these stamp sets alone which is fantastic. Thank you to those of you who have so generously supported this fund-raising effort to date. Your response has been generous and wonderful
The card above uses the set Live Your Dream, from the current Mini Catalogue and a technique called emboss-resist. I CASED the design of this card from another demonstrator who has since removed her video tutorial from youtube :-( sorry I can’t put a link in here for you).  I’ve used Whisper White ink (although you could use Versa Mark) for the large flower image and clear embossing powder over the top before embossing with my heat gun. The result is that the image becomes shiny and resists the ink I’ve applied over the top with a sponge dauber.

Here’s a list of what I’ve used to create this card (all from Stampin’ Up!):

Stamps : Live your Dream set

Ink : Whisper White craft ink pad, Sage Shadow, Perfect Plum Classic ink pads.

Paper : Soft Sky, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White

Accessories : Clear Embossing powder, Heat Gun, Powder Pals, Sponge Daubers, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Elegant Eggplant grosgrain ribbon.

Please remember to order your stamps from the list below before the 31st of March to contribute to the appeal- thankyou.

Sale-A-Bration is coming to an end very soon. If you haven’t yet grabbed one of the free stampsets for yourself, then you can do so by contacting me with your order before February 28th! Don’t forget the Bushfire Appeal fundraiser that I am running in conjunction with Stampin’ Up! until the end of this month also (see previous posts for further details).

Just sharing a little tag with you today using the Sale-A-Bration set, Botanical Blooms. I’ve been having a lot of fun with this two-Step set (Two Step stamping was one of the first techniques I learned when I started as a demonstrator!)

Here’s what I used to make this tag (all from Stampin’ Up!) :

Stamps :  Botanical Blooms, So Many Sayings (Level 1 hostess set)

Ink: Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Sahara Sand

Card stock : Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Whisper White (you get 9 7×9.85cm approx. tags from 1 sheet of A4 cardstock)
Punches : Corner Rounder, Word Window, Scalloped Edge, 1/16th Inch Circle punches

Accessories : Old Olive Wide Grossgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread, 1/2 Pearl from Pretties Kit.

Happy Valentine’s Day

I thought I would share a couple of quick cards with you in honour of Valentine’s Day weekend.

I created the more masculine card above with my hubby in mind and I’ve been sharing it at workshops leading up to Valentine’s day.

I have to say I am in love with the wide double-stitched grosgrain ribbons in the Summer Mini……they are so lovely to work with and the Choc Chip one is especially good for “masculine” cards.

Here’s another card using the same stamp set, similar layout, but a different feel altogether. I’ve used the Scallop Edge Punch together with the 1/16th inch hand held punch to create a more feminine “lacey” look to the scallops:

There are only around 6 more weeks left of the Summer Mini catalogue so you’ll need to be sure to get everything on your wishlist by 31st March!

Here’s a list of what I used to create these cards:

Stamps : A Happy Heart

Ink : Sahara sand, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Purely Pomegranate, Regal Rose and Close to Cocoa Stampin’ Write Markers
Card stock : Purely Pomegranate, Very Vanilla, Kraft, Regal Rose.

Accessories : Choc Chip Double Stitched Wide Grosgrain ribbon, Regal Rose Grosgrain, Pewter Jumbo Eyelet, Ice Circle Brad, Scallop Edge Punch, 3/4 inch Circle Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, 1/16 inch Circle Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots.
