Vanessa Webb – Independent Stampin’Up! Demonstrator

This month I’ve had a final opportunity to play with some stampsets that we say farewell to today. Yes TODAY is the last day you can order from the 2008/2009 Idea Book.

Circle of Friendship  has been a really fun and versatile set to have in my collection. You can see it used above with the Petals Jumbo Wheel and circle punches to create the accents on these Love Notes and envelopes.

Polka Dots and Petals is a fabulous set (coordinating with the Petals Wheel) for designing your own patterns and backgrounds and also creating a focal point on a card……..the card above was a make-n-take we did at a workshop a couple of weeks ago…….this has been a very popular set and you can still pick one up if you’re quick!

The Happiness Background stamp has been  a popular stamp since I received it at Convention last year. It’s great to use as a background or ink up with markers to isolate the different patterns. I’ve embossed and then coloured in the gaps of the stamped image (inking up in Versa Mark and then in Basic Brown, stamping and then embossing in Clear Powder first). Happiness is available today at 25% discount for $25.46.

Today is also the last day I will be placing orders from the Summer Mini catalogue.

Isn’t he just the cutest?

I love the new Retro Fresh style in our new catalogue. I’ve heard it described as a fresher, updated version of 1970’s kitchen curtains.
The card above uses the new In-Colours  Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss teamed up with the gorgeously kitsch good Morning Sunshine double-sided papers.

To create my two-toned birdie I’ve inked the stamp in Kiwi Kiss and then rolled the edges in Pacific Point before stamping onto Whisper White cardstock and cutting him out. For the eye I’ve used a Blue Ice Circle Rhinstone Brad.

To create the Paisley cake I “kissed” the un-inked cake stamp onto the Paisley background stamp inked up with Pink Passion, the Dazzling Diamonds glitter was applied with a 2-way Glue Pen.

I love this set and it inspired me to branch out in some new directions with my colour choices. I’ve never really been brave enough to use Summer Sun (from the Earth Elements family) but how gorgeous does it look with the new In Colour – Kiwi Kiss !!??

I am getting to know and love all my new In Colours (I’ve now  received all my Sneak Peek goodies!!) and I would describe Kiwi Kiss as a paler, fresher shade of Old Olive (I’ve used old olive Grosgrain here to co-ordinate with the new card stock).

I’ve used a special reverse masking technique here and torn out the centre of a spare piece of Stampin’ Up! scratch paper like so:

Using the square hole in the middle as a window to stamp the branches and greeting into before sponging in some Summer Sun ink.

Next I used the torn out piece to cover over or “mask” my stamped images, and stamped the larger background stamp from the fresh cuts set over the top, peeled off the mask and the background appears behind the images in the middle.

I know I’ve already posted today but I am determined to use all my retiring stampsets at least one more time before they go!!

So ………….. here is a quick page a made up  for a workshop tomorrow. We are doing a 6×6 for the make-n-take and the stampsets are Office Accoutrement and Paisley. I’ve “kissed” the gorgeous Frangipani with my Paisley Background (also retiring at the end of this month) with Pixie Pink ink. Background stamps are so versatile!! Paisley has been one of my favourites and it was one of the first backgrounds I owned.
