I know, I know! 2 posts in one day………

One of the benefits of running my own business is that I can take time off when I need to and sometimes that means a break from blogging too.
Just lately I have spent some lazy “jammie days” at home with the kids who have all had their fair share of bugs (something I could never do if I worked 9-5) and, as you will see in future posts, I’ve had plenty of chance to play with my stash of new Mini Catalogue goodies :) . Thankyou to those fabulous girls from my team who leant a hand while I was out of action……you rock!
So while I haven’t been out and about as much I have been having some fun creating the designs for next month’s Stamp-A-Stack cards. The inspiration for my owl card came from a card I saw created by the very talented Angela Sargeant.
Create 10 all occasions cards in one sitting using new products from the Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue.

THere is now less than a week to go until the current Summer Mini catalogue finishes! It’s also the time to say goodbye to the beautiful Sale-A-Bration sets. You can still place an order before 10pm on Wednesday 31st March next week. So call or email with those things you still have on your wishlist before they are gone forever!

These two cards were made with the best selling Butterfly Prints set. I’m really going to miss this set and the matching punch that goes with it. This is the technique that I demonstrated at the Craft Expo – Versa Mark resist or “Ghosting”. It’s a quick and easy technique and you can achieve this look using a Brayer, Versa Mark, and any Classic inkpad on Glossy Cardstock – all available from Stampin’ Up!

Starting off with plain, white glossy card, stamp a bold image randomly in Versa Mark (the Butterfly Prints or any other bold stamp image works really well for this technique). Then Brayer over the top in any colour you desire (the medium stregth colours work best- not too dark, not too light). The Versa mark images with show through the more you work in the Classic ink with the brayer!

You can then stamp over the top of the “ghost” images if you wish and also add other punched out images to add dimension to your design.

Here is a list of the ingredients I used to make my cards -

Stamps: Butterfly Prints, Inspired by Nature, Vintage Labels

Ink :  Versa Mark, Lavender Lace, Lovely Lilac, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust and Only Orange Classic Stampin’ Pads

Paper : White Glossy Cardstock, Lovely Lilac, Elegant Eggplant, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie cardstock

I hope that I have inspired you to have a try at this technique at home !

Sydney Craft Expo 2010

Monday, March 15th, 2010

I’ve just come back down to earth from spending the last 4 days up in Homebush at the Craft Expo!

I always enjoy spending time on the Stampin’ Up! stand at the craftshows, and this one was no exception :)

Thanks to everyone who came and stopped by for a chat or to sit to make a card :) As this was a general craft show it was lovely to be able to share my passion for papercrafting with people who had never stamped or even made a card before!

One of the best things about being a demonstrator with Stampin’ Up! is the opportunities I get to share my hobby with others and help them to see how easy it is to be creative using rubber stamps.

Since joining SU! in 2006, though, I have come to realise it is more than just about the stamps, ink and paper (as fabulous as they are!).

As I look back on the past 3 years I realise that I have -
* expanded my circle of papercrafting friends

* built up my confidence and grown both personally and professionally

* contributed significantly to our family income

* earned 3,  5 star luxury, all expenses paid trips for 2!

* met some incredibly inspiring people and formed wonderful friendships that I know will last a life-time

If you’d like to know more about how you can be part of a wonderful company who not only sets the bar high in offering quality products but also puts people before profit, please contact me for a free, no obligation information pack.

Life’s too short to spend doing a job that you hate…..take the next step today and find out more about how you can start your own papercrafting business from home.
