Crayon Resist

Just three more sleeps until I leave for the Stampin’ Up! Convention in Brisbane! This is an annual event where demonstrators from all over Australia meet together to learn new stamping techniques, try out new Stampin’ Up! products and learn more about teaching the art of rubber stamping. I am looking forward to meeting up with fellow demonstrators whom I have met online as well as making some new friends who share a common passion for paper craft. We will have the chance , too, to swap our stamped creations and gather heaps of ideas and inspiration from each other. Here one of the swaps that I have made using a favourite set of mine “Scribble This”. For this card I have stamped the background swirls in Pink Passion ink onto the Pink Passion card stock and layered a piece of Not Quite Navy which I have punched along with the Spiral Punch before adhereing it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The flower images were created using the Crayon Resist technique which I have been demonstrating in my workshops recently. I have tied a small piece of black Hemp Twine up the top left corner.
For this technique, you need to use Stampin’ Up’s Glossy White card stock and a Basic Black stamp pad before applying the white Water Colour Wonder crayon to the image. The rest of this technique just involves sponging a bit of colour on using a Stampin’ Sponge and coordinating Classic Stampin’ Pads and rubbing the entire image over with a tissue to finish.
The greeting was stamped with a word from the Warm Words stamp set, I use these sets together a lot as they are very similar in style and the words are lovely to use on scrap book pages also.
I was happy with the way they turned out, can’t wait to see what swaps I will get in return!
If you and your friends would like to learn more about this technique or any others on this website, please contact me to arrange a free in home demonstration.
Stay tuned for some Convention up dates as I get the chance to fill you in on what I get up to in Brissy!
Oh! I almost forgot! CONGRATULATIONS to Jan, one of my lovely customers who placed an order of $100 or more during my competition last month and went into the draw to win a free stamp set. Jan is the proud owner of a brand new Bud Basics stampset!
Be sure to visit this site regularly to participate in my competitions!
