I’m stamping some cards for my lovely hostesses and also for some of the wonderful girls in my Stampin’ Up! team today, but I had to come and share some of my recent creations with you using this gorgeous stampset.
The one above uses a brayered background and it was one of our Stamp Club projects this month. If you have been thinking about joining one of my clubs next year, contact me now to request more details and an application form…….I have 4 spaces remaining for Monday’s club and only 1 spot left for Thursdays.
If you’d like to learn how to do brayered backgrounds like these, book a workshop at your place and I’ll come and show you and your friends how to recreate the card above!
After creating the background, I stamped the owls over the top in Basic Black ink before watercolouring them with Stampin’ Pastels and a Blender Pen.
You can’t see it very well in the picture but, I used a 2-way Gluepen around the eyes of the owls and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter over the top to help them stand out a bit more against the night-sky.
The highlights are done with a Signo White Gel Pen, which you can purchase through me from Stampin’ Up!. If you have been disappointed with the performance of other gel pens I think you’ll agree, after using this one, that it is the BEST White Gel Pen on the market.
The second card…….
The layout for this card was inspired by my Facebook friend Erika Martin who is a very talented demonstrator from the US.
I punched out the windows for the Owls with my 1 and 3/8″ Circle Punch and framed them with the Scallop Circle.
The Owls are coloured with ink picked up from the lids of classic inkpads, using a blender pen….that way I get to use the In Colours such as Kiwi Kiss to colour my images 😉
Here’s a list of the ingredients used to make the cards above. If you have any questions or comments please leave a message for this post, I’d love to hear from you.

I love that in the catalogues now, they list the colours used in the Designer Series Papers, because it makes it so easy to co-ordinate the colours!
