Faux Tiling

This technique is lots of fun…..and I love the real “WOW” you get when that clear embossing powder melts over the stamped image:)
This was one of the techniques we learned at Stamp Club a couple of months back. I will be starting up new Stamp Clubs in 2010…….so watch this space for more information about these and how you can join one!
To get the Faux Tiling look you start off with scoring your cardstock in a tile pattern. I’ve use the scoring attachment on my Fiskars Paper Cutter (the easiest way I know to score cardstock evenly) in diagonal lines about 1 and 1/2 cms  apart.
Next you stamp a design onto the scored cardstock. You’ll notice the gaps appearing in the stamped images where the score lines are……..this adds to the Faux Tiling effect.
Cover the entire surface with Versa Mark using the inkpad upside down and applying it like a sponge.
Shake a generous layer of Clear Embossing powder over the image…..making sure to cover the entire surface.
Melt the powder using your Stampin’ Up! Heat Tool and your done!
