December Stamp-a-Stacks
Here are the cards you will be creating at my December Stamp-a-Stacks. The snowflake card is cased from Stamping and Papercraft Vol13, No1. If you can’t make it to one of these nights, then here are the details of the cards pictured above:
I have used the criss-cross background stamp from “Looks Like Spring” and “The Snowflake Spot”- I don’t know about you, but I still love the whole idea of a white Christmas even though we don’t have a snowflake in sight during our December!
I stamped the giant snowflake onto some ultra smooth Whisper White cardstock in Boardering Blue ink before adding some Dazzling Diamonds glitter with my 2-way glue pen to add a bit of “bling” to my snowflake. Then I placed a Mini glue-dot onto the silver brad in the centre before dipping into some more glitter. Other Cardstock used is Real Red, Boardering Blue, Always Artichoke. I substituted these for the In Colour cardstock used in the original and I think they work just as well. A bit of distressing (I used my Cutter Kit for this), Paper Piercing and Stampin’ Up! Silver Cord (you get just under 70m on the roll for 11.50!) finishes it off.
For the card behind I have used the True Thyme Double -Sided Designer Series Paper (which i have been having a lot of fun with!) The technique I’ve used to get the ribbon effect is to place little folds all the way along a 12 inch strip of the paper and a strip of Snail adhesive to keep it in place. I find it works best if you fold and measure first before sticking it down in place. The stamp-set I’ve used for the greeting is “Glad Tidings” which has been inked up using the Rich Regals markers. The “Speckled” jumbo wheel gives a bit of texture to the background strip of Bravo Burgandy card-stock. Other card-stock used:Very Vanilla, Brocade Blue, Always Artichoke.
