Emerging Colour

Ok, this is officially my new favourite stamp set. There are just so many things you can do with the Fabulous Flowers set and , not that I’ve used it here, but the “Dare to be Fabulous” is appropriate for so many occasions when I want to send a card to a girlfriend.
These were my contribution to our team ATC swap last month (I’ll have to take a pic of what I received in return and post that too!) The technique i’ve used is called Emerging Colour.
Here’s how it works:
Beginning on Whisper White cardstock, stamp some background images in a colour (I’ve used Soft Sky for the small flowers here and blue Bayou fo my “V” anogram) or colours of your choice. Stamp the big flower image over the top of that in Versa Mark and cover with clear embossing powder before embossing with the heat gun (it’s a good idea to run over the card stock with your Embossing Buddy first to prevent static).
When the powder has melted and cooled, ink up your Brayer with a co-ordinating colour (I’ve used Wild Wasabi) and roll the rubber wheel over the top of the image. The embossed part will resist the ink and you can wipe the residue off with a tissue after wards. TIP: I find it works better if ink up on your stamp pad and then roll the Brayer in one direction only (i.e in a forwards motion) it’s also easier to eliminate the ink lines that may appear when the Brayer needs re inking. Brayering takes a bit of practice but the finished product looks fabulous!
If you wish, you can then add detail by stamping over the top of your brayered background.
