Faux Metal

Just sharing a card with you that I created some time ago and uploaded but never put on my Blog.
For this card I’ve used a technique called Faux Metal and as soon as I saw the Circle Circus set I immediately wanted to try it out with this technique. We got this set for free at Stampin’ Up! Convention in May and I have really enjoyed playing with it 🙂
To create the metal flower you need to heat up several layers (one at a time) of Embossing Powder, I’ve used Silver EP.
You do this by sponging Versa Mark straight onto Whisper White cardtstock and caoting it with the embossing powder before heating it. Then just repeat the process unil you have about 5 layers on there.
The last layer you need to heat really well, have the stamp you want to use inked up in Versa Mark, ready to stamp into the molten powder, this technique is similar to making an impression by pressing a seal into wax.
I used the big circle with the flowers and just cut out part of the image to use overlayed on the same image stamped in Chocolate Chip.

Here’s what you’ll need to make this card at home, all available through me from Stampin’ Up!:
Stamps : Circle Circus, Bella’s Bloom
Ink :  Chocolae Chip
Paper : Whisper White cardstock, Sweet Always 12×12 Double Sided paper.
Accessories : 1 and 3/8’s inch Circle Punch, Large Circle Metal Edged Tag, Flower Fusion, Silver Brad, Linen Thread, Tangerine Tango double striped grosgrain ribbon, Stampin Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots.
