A case for CASE – ing

Just popping in today to share a couple of cards I made recently that were inspired by others :). If you have ever seen a card and thought you had to head straight to your craft space and make it for yourself, you’ll understand the spirit of CASE – ing. In the papercraft world CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit. It’s a lovely way to share techniques and ideas in the crafting community and also to acknowledge our piers who inspire us ;).  Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery in my opinion and the sharing of  ideas is very much a part of what I do. It is also one of the main reasons I have a blog in the first place. I hope that when you visit here you are inspired to create your own projects and share them with others too :).
The card above was inspired by Shelli Gardner, CEO and co-founder of Stampin’ Up!. Pop over soshelli.com to have a look at some of her gorgeous cards including the one I used as the basis for mine. I copied her card pretty much exactly (love that layout!) but just changed the colours to a warmer pallet.
Here’s what I’ve used :
Stamps – Elementary Elegance (Sale-A-Bration)
Ink – Soft Suede Classic Ink Pad, Soft Suede, Poppy Parade Stampin’ Write Marker
Paper/Cardstock – Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Everyday Enchantment Designer Series paper (Sale-A-Bration), Early Edition Specialty Paper
Accessories – Big Shot, Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, Blossom Party Bigz Die,  Curly Label Punch, Stapler, Glue Dots, Anywhere Glue Stick, Crafters Tool Kit, Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad Pack, Paper Snips, White Baker’s Twine, Colour Spritzer
I loved Shelli’s colour combination too…..so I made a couple of each 🙂
Next up is a card inspired by one of my lovely team members Jenny Hayward. Thanks Jenny for creating your beautiful tag and allowing me to create the card version!

I love the colours Jenny used in her tag and so I took my pallet from there…..just changed the layout to fit a C6 sized cardfront. Looking at it now, I’m thinking that this layout could be worked well into a scrapbook page too 🙂
Here’s a list of what I’ve used to create my card version of Jenny’s tag :
Stamps – Elementary Elegance stampset
Ink – Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede and Crumbcake Classic ink pads, Crumbcake Stampin’ Write Marker
Paper – Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla, Ridinghood Red, Crumbcakecardstock
Accessories – Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Basic Pearls, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Colour Spritzer, Scallop Edge Punch, Sponge Daubers
Don’t forget that you can get a lot of these products for FREE until March 31 when you host your workshop or place a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration! Click HERE to view all the Sale-A-Bration items and email me today with your order.
I hope you are having a creative day!

  1. Im sure Shelli (and Jenny!) would be honoured that you CASEd their lovely work. I think we are so lucky to work in such a wonderful industry where copying and sharing is not only expected but encouraged! Hence why Stampin Up have “Share what you love” as their motto. So grateful for that! And love your cards xx

  2. Thanks Ness 🙂
I have just posted my tag on my blog and linked back to your card. I love your version.
Love Shelli’s card too. Have to add that to my ‘CASE’ file!
    Love Jenny x
